The Canadian Pamphlet Collection

Recently library staff from the archives and Scott Library's Bibliographic Services set about selecting items for digitization by the Internet Archives. Although many of the pamphlets were printed on cheap and highly acidic paper, many were of a format that made digitization quite straightforward. The Canadian Pamphlet Collection is a special collection based on format rather than content.  From political propaganda , public speeches to temperance literatureseed catalogues to scientific paperstourist flyers, social welfare treatises on public hygiene , working conditions, advice for immigrants and farmers, instructional manuals, and  event programs, the pamphlets are windows into the daily print culture of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Canadian society.

Items that have been digitized from the Canadian Pamphlet Collection can be found here.
