Additions to YorkSpace : CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) photographs

Staff from the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections have added new historical photographs of the Canadian National Exhibition.

Photographed by staff of the Toronto Telegram, this selection of about 100 images document activities, performances and attendants of the annual fair founded in 1897 as a showcase for developments in manufacturing, agriculture, industry and the arts.

A link to the CNE photographs on the university's institutional digital repository, YorkSpace, can be found here.

A link to the CNE Archives can be found here.  The CNE Archives feature historical photographs and film, as well as posters, sheet music and recordings of speeches all associated with the planning and management of the annual event.

Below are a selection of some photographs selected from the Toronto Telegram Photograph Collection fonds.
